I like 'A Touch of Frost' but ...

Inspector Frost is very moronic. First he gets one of his inspectors killed by going in to confront a murderer alone, then 2 episodes later he almost gets his dog killed by doing the same thing. He never seems to learn from his mistakes.

But then the police officers in Denton seem pretty incompetent. Criminals trying to escape often make them look like keystone cops, with their inability to stop someone running away even when the criminal is running away in the actual police station.

In both cases, the DS, and dog came to save Frost. He didn't send them in! He told both (DS, and dog) to stay in the car!!

This shows you're moronic. Do you understand the premise of the show? Jack Frost received a medal prior to the first series of the show, The George Cross. It's for bravery. He blindly went into a dangerous situation only to get shot in the head, only to survive.

In both cases with his then roommate DS, and later dog (whom he was "dog-sitting"), they acted on their own. So you blame DI Frost for going alone, because he had to stop a serious crime from happening? Both man, and dog showed pure loyalty to Frost, and sacrificed/risked their lives. That's the POINT!!

RE his medal: In one of the episodes, Frost, when he was musing over his receival of the GC, had mentioned that he had been drinking the night before, and had gone in with a hangover and with not a very clear head.

That's why he felt he did not earn the medal.
