The early Frosts are so different to the later ones. From the first episode up until the end of Series 5 we have a gritty hard hitting show. But from Series 6 onwards the style and feel of the show changes totally, it becomes more lightweight.There are good episodes from here (Held In Trust) but for me if i'm gonna watch Frost i'll nearly always pick out an early frost from my collection . Episodes like 'Appropriate Adults', 'Widows & Orphans', 'Stranger In The House' 'Penny For The Guy' and 'Paying The Price'

I have to agree with you there, i always find myself enjoying the 1992-1997 series.There seems to be a kind of quality missing from the later series.
I think personally that they did have some good episodes like "Line of Fire" "Benifit Of The Doubt" "Held In Trust" or "Near Death Experiance" but i think that from 1999 to 2010 the episodes could be hit or miss and that the quality declined, for instance i think the 2008 series was really bad.
if they had to go on maybe they should have just stuck to specials rather than sporadic series like morse had done!

I also agree. The early to late 1990s produced some of the best drama.
