God, I want to smack Claudia sometimes!

That little girl is such a troublemaker and a smart-@$$...she needs a swift kick in the butt!

I'm only on the first disc of Season 2, and I hate that child!

Don't get me wrong, the others tick me off quite often too, acting like they don't have to pay Charlie any respect. By all means, I remember being a teenager and swearing I knew enough about the world to make my own choices and such...I look back and see how immature, uninformed, and childish I was throughout it all. But regardless of how I felt, I still respected my parents when I was a teen. And Charlie is old enough to deserve respect and the closest thing they have to a parent, regardless of whether he's making the best decisions or not. What he says should go, overall.

But Claudia, of all of them, is definitely too young to be making her own choices and trying to act like she has any say. And yet she runs around with a terrible attitude, pulling stunts, running her mouth. God, I want to see someone give her that good slap across the face that she deserves...even if it's just a bully at school one day!

Geez, why are people so physically aggressive these days? Is it a sign of the times, is it all the violence on television or in major motion pictures or is it a lack of family morals? I've little interest in physical abuse within a family of children on a television program, especially striking a child on the face? Good Lord, do you actually desire that kind of horrible mentality? That would make for good television? Really? Not for me and never will be.

I've seen violent posts addressed towards all the primary cast of characters on this series. Where do these feelings come from? I can't fathom it.

PO5 does address the problem of physical abusive against women in a later season. Whilst the series aired those dark episodes they ran commercials asking viewers to go and get help from the local authorities or their own family members in these kind of horrible situations.

Slapping people isn't the answer to anything anywhere anyhow. Claudia wasn't so bad, and she goes on to be the heartbeat of the Salingers overall. She repeatedly shows the emotion as a young girl as they all try to get along. In season three she delivers quite a heartbreaking scene when Bailey makes a dangerous terrible mistake.

These characters ALL make mistakes along the way, they're all kids and no kid is perfect, far from it. What matters is children hopefully learn from their mistakes, some do and some don't.

*shakes head* Another anti-spanking protestor.

Whatever, thanks for keeping the thread at the top of the list for future visitors to see!

Classic IMDB shuffle, ignore the discussion and come up with a quip.

Slapping someone's face is NOT spanking, you sad child.

'Whatever'... the classic response when you have no response, great debating skills. I completely agree with your thoughts concerning future visitors, you're quite welcome.

This was never a debate to begin with. This was a statement of my opinion.

Even if it was a question up for debate, there would be no point in even trying to debate with you. When it comes to punishing children, people like you all react the same, whether it's spanking, slapping, or merely pointing a finger. There's no point in debating because there's no hope for a person like you to ever see the light.

The reason this kid is as bad as she is is strictly because she's never been reprimanded. It's obvious that verbal intervention is not working; she's gotten it every time from Charlie and she's not changing.

If you're the type of person willing to put up with that and let it slide, by all means, let your child grow up to be a snaughty, selfish brat like she is. But don't be jealous or blame anybody but yourself when my kid earns more respect from her teachers, her peers, and her future bosses than your child ever has because of her good behavior and respect for others.
