Charlie....a real listener

I'm watching the 3rd season and Julia is upset that Griffin bought
the bike shop so now they can't do the things she wanted to do. She
asks Charlie if he understands what she means. Charlie had just found
out that Grace does not want children so he says to Julia "yes, I do
understand" but instead of starting to talk about Grace and him, he
continues to listen to Julia and talk about her situation although
so much of what he says could apply to him and Grace.

How many people do you know that listen like that? How many times are
you telling someone something and within minutes they're talking
about themselves...it might relate and more times then not it doesn't
even relate.

My Mother who has passed on was the only one that really carried on what
I call a balanced conversation like that. I miss her so much

and I guess I need

new friends :o/

This series takes my breath away sometimes.

Hope you have good luck with your new goodies, soon?

PO5 is one of my favorites of all times. The writers did such a fine job without having too many cliched scenes. It was still a bit soapy at times but I loved all the primary cast and just about every support actor too.

No one will ever be better than our mom! (or dads too) Conversation is getting tougher all the time with all the texting and even sites like this. At least there's a bit of conversing, but the days of talking to people one-on-one is slowly fading away with many folks. Treasure our families! And the Salingers, hehehe.

It's nice you understood what I was saying...yes, family...I am so
grateful for what I had growing up and my remaining 5 siblings.
