The Intervention episode?

I thought that the intervention episode was a very good episode as the Salinger family confronted Bailey about his drinking problem. Poor Callie put herself in a bad light by bailing on him since I think she has a drinking problem as well, but I think she did as a way to prevent her drinking problem from being exposed. Poor Bailey was all emotional over the confrontation but served him right. The scene with Claudia breaking up is rather good.

I don't think Callie had a drinking problem. They both liked to drink, but between the two of them, Bailey was clearly the alcoholic. She did look bad by leaving, but I kind of understand somewhat. Like she said, it was a family thing. Room mates and friends with benefits (I believe the two already had sex by then) don't count as family. I think she did say something in Bailey's defense, but shortly there after she left, saying he needed to handle it on his own.

Also, what could she have said in his defense? She didn't see anything wrong with his drinking at the time. She wasn't around when he turned into a loud mouth, pathetic drunk. She had been around him when he was silly and stupid and drunk, and had a hang over, but she really didn't see him at his worst the way the others did.

Remember a few episodes later, when he drove home drunk with Owen in the car? Remember how Charlie slammed Bailey up against the gate, or whatever it was? Charlie should have beat the crap out of Bailey. Teach him a lesson he wouldn't have understood at the time; "This is what happens when you drive a little kid home drunk."

As much as the family confronted Bailey about his drinking problem, this episode lets Bailey finally release a metric ton of truths on everyone else. Alcoholic or not, pretty much everything Bailey says in response to the interventionists was absolutely the spot on truth. He had been holding all of that stuff in for years, especially concerning Charlie the king of screw-ups himself. The whole family deserved what Bailey dished out, every word!

Bailey was a self-righteous jerk though.
