The discs will be Manufacture on Demand. Amazon will probably sell them too, though the price may not be lower at first.
Amazon adds a warning for any MOD discs:

Amazon.com's standard return policy will apply.If you play a MOD disc in your standalone DVD player you should not have any problems at all. When I've placed a MOD disc in my computer the system locks up, not even allowing playback. Don't expect playback in a computer drive. share
This product is expected to play back in DVD Video "play only" devices, and may not play in other DVD devices, including recorders and PC drives.
So, if they are going with a MOD release, is Sony tipping their hand that they plan to do this very low budget and get seasons 4, 5 AND 6 out?
I don't care about anything other than getting the entire series and I'm not spending my money again until I know I can watch the show from beginning to end.
And you aren't kidding about not being lower. Sure seems like the price should be better for this set right from the get-go.
I hope someone who does buy this gives some feedback on how it looks compared to the NOT MOD releases of seasons 1-3.
