I just realized the age difference and almost threw up

I'm on season 2 and for some reason when Bailey and Sarah kissed at Charlie's failed wedding, I remembered that he was older when he played that role. So I looked up their ages. Making him 27 and her 16 during that kiss and in their previous make out sessions. If it was filmed the year before then their ages are a year younger. I can't believe her parents allowed her to do those scenes. Especially the one in the park when they were making out and he had his shirt off and they were laying down. I just had to post. Probably should have checked to see if there was already a post.

LOL I don't think they made as big of a deal about underage girls kissing older guys on TV back in the early 90's from what I've seen in other TV shows and films from that time. I think they started cracking down on simulated sex with minors on film in the late 90's/2000's after the controversial remake of Lolita where the 15 year old actress had some intense kissing scenes where tongue was used with the then 49 year old Jeremy Irons.

Kiera Knightly was 15 when she showed bare breasts in The Hole. Same thing with Thora Birch in American Beauty.

It has to do with how and why scenes are shot. JLH making out with SW isn't much of a big deal done on a TV set.

That was a good film though, 90s Lolita, I prefer it to the 60s one.

The CHARACTERS were basically the same age. There's nothing wrong with it. Nothing inappropriate happened. You're seeing things that aren't there. When I saw the thread title I thought it was going to be about how in season 5 during the Griffin-Claudia subplot, they sort of tease the possibility of those two getting involved which would have been inappropriate. They remove this instantly by having JUlia and Griffin hook up and then its not brought up again.

I'm currently on season five and noticed the whole Claudia-Griffin thing as well. If Julia wasn't in the picture and Claudia was much, much closer to his age, i think it would've been interesting to see how that would've played out.

In hindsight its a bit surprising they did nothing with it. I guess they weren't willing to risk controversy and a backlash by having Griffin and Claudia get involved. Legally would be a crime but would have brought tons of attention to the series.

What about Charlie in Lost with a girl the same age as JLH in PO5? That's a 13 year age difference.
