This show is pretty racist....

Seriously, why is it always the Latino kid who says the unfunny jokes and gets ridiculed for it?

There are plenty of other examples; anyone care to contribute a few?

All the kids have problems.

I was just thinking about 'racism' on the show even though I don't think there actually is any. But I don't remember Tim having ANYTHING resembling a personality and I barely remember a thing about Keisha either except that I liked that awful outfit as a kid in the 90s. Yet I can remember all these other catchphrases and elements of personality from most of the others. Of course no one means to be racist on the show, in fact it one of those where they seem to go out of their way to make sure all the ethnic groups are covered (though maybe that's a normal slice of the population, I did go to a high school that had 7 black students out of 2000 but I realise that's not normal). But I don't think Carlos is portrayed negatively really. The reaction to the lame jokes comes across to me as almost endearment and not just annoyance. Even then I don't think it's a big deal who they assign that to--half the characters are totally annoying anyway, and I actually like Carlos. And Wanda at least had a vibrant personality even if I found her very annoying, so it's mostly just the black students that I thought never seemed to do or say much of anything. I swear it was like Tim hardly existed. At least I can remember Keisha's grandma and her saying 'oh bad bad bad!' but I don't even think Tim had a catchphrase. I know no one intended to be racist, and in fact it would be worse if they were loud unintellectual ghetto stereotypes, but they never seemed as prominent to me as the others.

doesn't work because in the "GO Batty" eposide, Phoebe's the one who tells a bad joke "Fangs for reminding us Carlos" and everyone else says PHOEBE!. And suppodely in the "Get Ready, Set, DOUGH" eposide everyone says a pun of some kind..

I've seen way worse racism in tv shows than Carlos telling lame jokes.

But I loved Carlos, despite his bad jokes.
