Was it mentioned who Ghostwriter was?

I recall in episode 'Just in Time' that I thought perhaps he traveled back in time and was helping himself when he was a kid. Speaking of the boy Frank ~ did anyone else think that or was there other episodes that lead to whom ghostwriter actually was?

What happened to the rest of the topics? Did they disappear, or am I imagining that there was more than 1 page?
Thanks for answering ~ wasn't sure if ppl still came into this board. And now you mention it I was wondering same thing cuz I am sure last month I came in here with another question and don't see it anywhere.

Also returned to check up on who all played Jamals dad ~ recall Samuel Jackson but while watching Just in Time I see another actor playing his dad.

You are correct regarding Jamal's father. Samuel L. Jackson played him for the first two episodes, and then a new actor took over for his subsequent appearences. I was here the other day and there were pages of threads and now there aren't, so I'd say that IMDB went through their boards and trumped down the ones that weren't being used frequently enough.

As for GW's idenity, the two main posibillities that I've read about are him being either Jamal's Great Grandfather (since he was referenced so much in the pilot and because the book GW was in was on top of his trunk. The other idea which I believe is based on something a producer once said, it that he is Lewis Caroll, author of 'Alice in Wonderland".

But, unless someone is desperate for a show to get ratings, we will likely never know.

I haven't watched the show in forever. Why is Lewis Caroll a possibility?

So what, now he want's to kill me?...No, he wants my candy bar!

Lewis Caroll is a common posibillity mentioned because in "A Tale of Two Cities" Jamal is kidnapped and trapped on the "Isle of Dogs" in England. When Ghostwriter reads this, he gets very scared and asks if Jamal is surrounded by barking dogs. Later, when talking to Jamal, he says he is fgihtend of barking dogs and remembers them from his life. Lewis Caroll was well known for being afraid of dogs.

It wasn't Frank. He was my #1 choice, but according to wikipedia, Ghostwriter was alive before the FBI was formed in 1908. Frank's mystery took place in 1928. Frank looked about 11 or 12. So I seriously doubt he was at least 21 years old. Which is how old he would have had to been to be ghostwriter. On the other hand, I did get this from wikipedia. I just thought you might like to know.

I just watched that ep on Youtube, and I don't think it was Frank. Someone mentioned a theory that it could be Frank's dad (which is plausible I guess), but I buy into the theory that it was Jamal's great-grandfather Ezra(?).

Man, I used to love this show... :)

We're having too good a time today, we ain't even thinkin about tomorrow Public Enemies

The producers' intent was to reveal Ghostwriter to be "a famous 15th- to 16th-century writer, but not Shakespeare" at the end of the first season, although this eventually never happened.

D.J. MacHale, who wrote series' pilot, stated: "If memory serves, Ghostwriter was supposed to be an ancestor of Jamal's, who was an escaped slave from the south who educated himself and learned the value of reading."
That's what I read on Wikipedia.

I loved this show so much when I was younger and now that the first season is coming out on DVD makes me so excited.
