Totally thought it was a Don Bluth film

So, I'm a child of the 90's where all things for children were awesome and not tainted by this crazy pop-tastic, pre-teen junk. So I was talkin to my brother about Don Bluth films, and I TOTALLY thought this was one of them. The animation is VERY similar to his movies (i.e. All Dogs Go to Heaven, Thumbelina, etc...), but he's not mentioned anywhere. I'm totally shocked, especially cuz Cecilia looks like she could be Anne Marie's (All Dogs Go to Heaven)sister! Anyone else know Don Bluth movies?? Anyone else think this was one of them?!?!

yes indeed, very similar. The triceratops' movements sometimes reminded me of Tiger (from American Tail)

It DOES sort of look "Bluth-esque." People say it looks like "Land Before Time", and that's no surprise to me, because Steven Speilberg had involvement in both movies.

Yeah a lot of the artists back then liked the same style of animation. I just watched this movie this weekend on YouTube, nostalgia lane, haha.

If you wait til the credits end you see fievel pushing the ablinimation (think i got that right) logo.

As a kid I was convinced it was by Don Bluth as well, course when I got older and began to read I discovered he had nothing to do with it, but style wise one might get the impression he might've had something to do with it.

I've got an ignore list longer than a Chinese phone book.

Well, two of the directors also directed An American Tail: Fievel Goes West, so they probably adopted his style working on a sequel to a film Bluth directed, the first An American Tail movie?

Makes lots of sense. ;) I wouldn't blame anyone for thinking this was a Bluth. It totally has the look and feel of one, and fits right in with all those classics. LOVE this flick!!

LOL, I thought he made this flick to bounce back from that Rock A Doodle mess! I don't hate that one either, but I can see why others do.

The animation is amazing for the most part, but some of it is a little rushed, like the animation of the kids at the parade/museum...that's just me nit picking though.

Lol! I LOVE Rock-A-Doodle, too! That one is a huge family favorite. I never really could figure out why some people didn't like it...same with The Pebble and the Penguin. None of these movies are perfect; there are definitely sections in which the animation could have been quite a bit better. But honestly, I enjoy them all so much that I've barely ever noticed or minded much.

I thought it was Don Bluth too. Ditto for Fern Gully and Balto.

It seems like a Don Bluth film. So does Fern Gully but not Balto.
