Why does that make Cassandra run back to Wayne?

Dang, after posting that question I did some research & the whole wedding scene is a take on the Graduate, right down to the guests & priest cursing.

Still, why would everyone saying "son of a bitch" make Cassandra change her mind?

Not to mention, THE VERY SAME CHURCH (kinda cool MidMod architecture, constructed almost entirely of precast concrete wall and roof panels). The Alfa-Romeo Spyder that Wayne drives is a much later, more powerful model.

Obviously when they show the identical FIRST Presby church (LOL) right across the street, it's a simple optical mirroring effect.

Funny shyt all 'round, since The Graduate was set in So-Cal, IIRC, and WaWo is set in Aurora, IL...

I think The Graduate was set in Northern California, San Francisco and Berkley areas.

Them cursing had nothing to do with her decision to go back to Wayne. She went back to Wayne because she loves him and wanted him. The cursing was there, as you mentioned, as an homage to the Graduate.

Is it bad that when I first saw this, I thought they were saying a Chinese Curse to make the glass break, so Wayne would fall through and die :P

Because no one wanted Wayne to marry Cassandra and Wayne keep screwing it up.
