Caroline and Dwight wedding night

This a true story based on the life and times of Tobias Wolfe. On Caroline and Dwights wedding night, Dwight told Caroline she only has two choices, doggy-style or laying on your side. Then Dwight immediately moves into to doggy-style. Here's my question: Did Caroline come down for breakfast and tell her son, Jack that Dwight banged her out from behind? A little creepy. Because how else would the writers and producers get a play-by-play to put it in the movie. Just saying..

Maybe Caroline was interviewed at some point, or it was made up to make Dwight look even crazier than he was.

You bring up a very interesting point I hadn't thought of. If the story is told from Jack's point of view, the only way that scene could be described would be if the mother told him about it. I'm inclined to believe that in a quiet moment she did share what happened that night. It could have been when she was telling Jack that the marriage/living with Dwight was no fun for her either. It a bit creepy to share that with your teenage son but I guess that could have happened. The only other explanation is that they embellished the details of that night to show the audience how badly Dwight treated Caroline as well.

When a movie is based on a true story, that doesn't actually mean that all aspects of the movie are true. Some parts are added for entertainment value. Some are added to exaggerate or reinforce the character's personality to the viewer and somethings are added as fillers or to smooth out the rough edges of the movie, like filling in the blanks. That part of the movie was likely to reinforce the fact that Dwight was a controlling nutcase.

Good call! Could you be a perverted, controlling nut-case and prefer missionary? Its funny how the writers/producer chose "doggie-style" as if its so degrading. When in reality its probably the most preferred position.

Preferred position? LoL, I don't know where that is the consensus. Liking it is not some sign of deviance of course, but the movie makes it that way only because Dwight can't form a normal relationship. The act is depicted as one of selfishness and creepiness, not simply because of the position but because Dwight could give two *beep* about what his bride wants.

To answer your OP, I agree with Born that it's probably a dramatization to shed more light on the awfulness that is Dwight. It's not just their wedding night either. Caroline makes it clear when she tries to get him to do it differently that they always have done it way. He doesn't care because he's a controlling freak without any concept of interpersonal relationships. You may think it's the preferred way, but it's really *beep* up to want to do it like Dwight does, especially when his wife isn't on board.
