The movie sucks, but the Soundtrack's great!!!

I watched the movie and I really was disapointed! After the unique <<Basic Instinct>> I thought, that Sliver had to be great, too! But... no!
The story is boring and I'm suprised that everyone sais, that Sliver is a Thriller. The 2 brutal scenes in the movie were really bad!!!

But there was something I liked about the movie: The Soundtrack.
The song in the first scene - Carly's song by Enigma, it's sooooooo great.
I bought the Soundtrack only because of this song. But then I heard the other songs. They're so wonderful!

What do you think?

yeah, if you like electronic music, it's pretty good...same with Basic Instict 2. I need to get ahold of the one track in particular from this movie but i have no idea what it's called.

I bought the soundtrack back in 1993 way before I was old enough to watch the movie. The movie is horrible, the book isn't that great but is WAY better than the movie. The soundtrack though is awesome. The one track by The Verve is amazing!!!!!!!! One of the best soundtracks of 1993 by far.

Hello would you be so kind to send me the tracklist ([email protected])
I would be very pleased, because I didn1t find it on the net..

ok look, im really confused, can someone explain why this movie"sucks"? i seriously cannot see where the movie went wrong, stop comparing it to basic Instinct, just because sharon stone's in it doesnt mean it's a rip off. Sharon Stone was great, as usual, baldwin was good/ok, the story was pretty easy to follow and the ending was the only letdown. I mean, when she found out he wasnt the killer, what was she supposed to do, attack him??? The only thing that *beep* me was that it just stopped after Sharon shoots the TV screens. All in all, it was good.

The presence of the underappreciated Neneh Cherry on any soundtrack raises its value astronomically (see also BEST LAID PLANS and THE LONG KISS GOODNIGHT).

Agreed. This was my second-favorite soundtrack of the '90s (after Goodfellas). Verve, Massive Attack, Lords of Acid, The Young Gods ... good stuff.

The Neneh Cherry song is incredible. I'm glad you brought up her work in "The Long Kiss Goodnight" - another underrated soundtrack.

I wish the Sliver CD were still available. I only have the cassette.

Ah yes!!! This is the first movie that I saw that while I was watching it I thought to myself that "the soundtrack is excellent and I have to get it immediatley". I was listening to it again just last night!

Oh Carolina was the first time I had heard of Shaggy and I think that's one of my favorite songs on there. The Neneh Cherry track is beautiful, The Heaven 17 track is cool, along with Aftershock and the Lords Of Acid tracks. HOWEVER, The Verve's - Starsail track is thee best one! That song is sonically amazing.

I originally bought it on cassette in '93 when Sliver just came out, but after searching and keeping-my-eyes-open for the CD since 2000, I finally came across a used copy in excellent shape at The CD/Game Exchange here.
Good luck in your search!

I actually used "Starsail" in a student film project. I haven't heard it in years, but it's great stuff.

I also rushed out to buy the soundtrack after seeing the movie. I had to wait a week because it wasn't released yet. that was a long week.

The first track "Starsail" hits you like a velvet hammer and got me onto The Verve CD called "A Storm In Heaven" which is easily their best album. I actually loved the UB40 Elvis song too...great stuff. I thought the movie sucked and picked up a tape of the soundtrack for $4 Australian in 1995 cause it had the Young Gods, enigma and the UB40 song and it is easily the most surprisingly good music purchase I have ever made...

"Unfinished Sympathy" by Massive Attack during the first sex scene, played through 5.1 surround speakers sounds awesome. Really adds to the scene.

So which song is the one at the end of the movie?(during the credits)

´´You don’t hate your life, Is your life that hates You´´
