What was the connection between Vida and Berenger's character? they talked on the street then pretended never to have met each other, then (i think) berenger killed her. any theories?

Carly lied to Jack and told him that she was told that Vida told her that he was having an affair with Naomi Singer. But it's was really Zeke who spilled the beans. Jack killed Vida afterwards.
But Jack and Vida seemed to have had an affair. That's my theory.
