what other American movies do you recomend for high erotic content? Not "porn" but things of this nature that many prudish people will claim is "as bad as porn" or whatever.

Excellent list, but 'Lie With Me' looks out of place somehow. I suppose I don't really consider it an 'erotic' movie persay; just drama with borderline pornography. But those are all really quality films. A few more:
