NO DOUBT I'M IN THE MINORITY BUT...

I liked this film better than BASIC INSTINCT. I thought the chemistry between Sharon Stone and William Baldwin was better than the chemistry between Stone and Michael Douglas in BASIC INSTINCT. From what I understand the two didn't get along too well but as far as I can see it doesn't come across in the film. They may not have liked each other when the cameras weren't rolling, but I have to say I think they made a pretty hot screen couple.

I'm with you on this one!!! I am just so stinking happy it is FINALLY comming out on DVD!!!

I thought this was better than Basic Instinct as well. I don't know about Basic Instinct 2, we'll find out on Friday. But Sliver is by far and large more thrilling and more sexy than Basic Instinct. And here's where I am probably in the minority, but I LOVE the ending...

A lot of people may not have liked the ending to SLIVER but at least it was an actual conclusion to the story. The ending to BASIC INSTINCT was a little too half-assed for me, but of course there's a sequel now so I guess that will take care of it.

I totally agree!! It is a hot film. Billy Baldwin is actually sexy and not a wrinkled prune like Michael Douglas.

its R rated i think.. does baldwin go frontal here?

Now that I've seen Basic Instinct 2, Sliver is nothing. BI2 is the greatest film I have ever seen.

I went to see BI2 yesterday to see for myself if it was as bad as reviews are saying.I liked it alot!Sharon is so awesome in this role and looked nice to boot at 48.I think the reason it bombed was that the studio didn't promote the movie enough. I didn't see a trailer until 5 days before it come out.BI2 should of had trailers playing in theaters and tv at least for a few months prior to it's release. Also what the hell are they releasing it on only 1,400 screens? No one knew it was out or what it was about. To bad, iloved it.I will buy the dvd for sure.

I enjoyed Sliver more as well.

Wait a minute... who am I here?

You may be in the minority, but I think there are a lot of people out there who love this film. Themes of loneliness, sexual awakening and disconnectedness (expressed as voyeurism) are very relevant to the (modern?) human condition.

I think people who love this movie find it hard to articulate why they love it so much (as I do), but there is something about it. Maybe I just think a movies sex scene with unfinished sympathy playing is the height of perfection :)

I slightly prefer this to Basic Instinct as well.
