What's in a term?
I love the title and it seems to have a huge theory behind it? What does it mean in one sentence?

shareEveryone is separated by only six other people on the planet. We are also closer than we think. Succinct enough?
shareAs Ouisa Kitteridge said : I read somewhere that everybody on this planet is separated by only six other people. Six degrees of separation between us and everyone else on this planet. The President of the United States, a gondolier in Venice, just fill in the names. I find it extremely comforting that we're so close. I also find it like Chinese water torture, that we're so close because you have to find the right six people to make the right connection... I am bound, you are bound, to everyone on this planet by a trail of six people
I love that quote......
I find you pompous, judgmental and completely self-absorbed. Would you be my friend?
To give an example: my bf did some work for Joan Armatrading. She has met Nelson Mandela. He has met everyone. I am therefore 4 degrees away from President Bush, my friends, who have not met my bf are 5 degrees and their friends 6 degrees.
One thing I can't stand is intolerance.
A funny variation of this for film lovers is the game: six degrees of kevin bacon. It is based on a variation of the concept of the small world phenomenon which states that any actor can be linked, through their film roles, to Kevin Bacon. The game requires a group of players to try to connect any film actor in history to Kevin Bacon as quickly as possible and in as few links as possible.

one night several years ago my sister n i watched this movie on television. after it got over quite late at night, we went to bed. the next morning as we were gettin dressed for school, we weren't speaking to each other at all(something we always did)a weird unusual silence filling the room. i turned to my sister and asked...'six degrees of seperation?'. she said 'yeah'.
my favourite movie.
