Jam?!


Hey, am kinda confused..maybe Im missing something really obvious or am reading too much into it...but why do they react so badly, and Flan throw it on the floor when they get the Jam from Paul?!

Sid summed it up succinctly. Flan's pissed because (if Trent Conway is right about the jam) he recognizes the jam as a "thank you" gift from Paul.

The gift implicitly says: "(a) we're on great terms, (b) I did nothing wrong and (c) I'm part of your societal class." Giving the jam is a form of validation for Paul.

Flan feels: (a) they're not on remotely good terms, (b) Paul violated them and (c) Paul's a low-class criminal. Getting the jam is the ultimate insult to Flan.
