Flanders Kittredge

Does anyone know whether the character John Flanders Kittredge is based on an actual person. I have recently met someone in New York who (1) is a lawyer, (2) went to Harvard, (3) is now an art dealer for impressionist paintings and (4) sells from his home rather than a gallery. If that is a coincidence, it is a really weird one.

I posted my opinion on this movie before. I maybe a little older than you but I remember in the late 80's early 90's ( I was in my late teen early twenties) there was a true story in New York of a young man posing as Sidney Poitier's son. I remember seeing the young man on an episode of the Phil Donahue show. So the story is true. The movie was losely based on that. (There was a play about it also.) I hope that help.

people like that are commonplace in developed western nations.
