I just watched this movie (sorry to be 10 years late!) but can anyone list the 6 degrees?

I can only think of this...

Paul and the children of the Kits (sp?)
The Kits and Paul
Paul and friends of Kits children's friends
The homosexual friend who taught Paul
The midwestern couple

This is more than 6 if you add them all up. Who is the 6 degrees of separation referring to? Paul? Sure the Kit family meet people due to Paul who had relations with him.....

I'm not sure why this is so confusing to me. I get the 6 degrees of Kevin Bacon, but this I can't figure out.

It doesn't refer to any specific connections in the movie, just the theory that every person in the world is connected to every other person by only 6 people. Ouisa and Tess discuss this after they discover it was Trent that provided all the information.

The idea that we connect to anyone in only six steps seems impossible but when you start looking at it it might be true. Especially when the people just need to have met and not necessarily be well known to each other. If you've ever met your Senator or Represenative you are only one or two degrees from most of the world leaders. The pols would have either met them or someone they met, like the President or Secretary of State would have.
