The version I remember seeing was that Mary had really blonde hair and seemed a bit older looking than Kate M. and I really remember a part where Colin was freaking out and screaming that he could feel the lump on his back growing...

it sounds familiar to me too cause i just got the dvd and you're right. I love how Mary puts her cousin in his place!
shareI got the dvd last week for £3 and watched it last night for the first time since I was about 11 and I know for definate it's the same film but I also had moments of thinking bits were missing.....
shareThe only movie version with Mary as a blonde I can think of is the 1949 version. The 1986 and 1993 versions both had brunette Mary.

I think it might of been some B-rated movie like straight to video, b/c I remember renting it from our local video store. Oh well, I like this version.
