Not in IMDB top 250?

Many cinephiles read that list and watch the ones they have access to. I found out about this movie because it was a companion to Alfonso Cuaron's A little Princess. He is an accomplished director. But this movie is done by people not well known or else unknown like the Director Agniezka holland. It was adored by critics and I felt it was one of the best family movies of all time. How could this not be in the top 250? Something most be moved off and this put on. It's an inspirational movie that deserves a chance to be seen.

Seconded. Absolutely. There may be other better movies, but this is my personal favourite movie of all time. And it's definitely good enough to feature in imdb top 250. Just because the cast and crew are relatively unkown is NO criterion for not considering a film not good enough. The ONLY criterion for ranking should be how good a movie is, and this definitely is good enough.

Thirded ^^. This was my absolute favourite movie along with A Little Princess as a child, and still is now. It definatly belongs in the top 250.

Right, and I wonder how come that Harry Potter movies get better score than this.

Ok, I'm going against the grain here but I have had the same question about the 1949 version, which I saw a couple of months ago. I only saw the 1993 version last weekend and while I loved the first half of the movie I must confess for me the second half the film fell apart rapidly, especially in comparison to the 1949 version. Now that is a movie that should be in the top 250.

I'm going to have to see that version. I wonder if it ever comes on Turner Classics ever? Thanks for the recommendation.
