Book, Movie and how it was protrayed.

I found this movie way off from the book. Plus I read the book back in 1985, and saw the film back in 93'. I had a few problems with the movie. It seemed the point was to soften the impact of the book. In the book the parents die from cholera. Another problem was the lack in casting, The uncle (craven), who is supposed to be English looks French, or possibly Italian. Craven looks like he should be painting ,rather then being a millionaire.

Overall the film is good, but the casting could have been better. There are quite a few errors. I encourage everyone to read the book.

I loved this movie, but the one thing I dislike is how Mrs. Medlock was portrayed. The movie turned her from a stern housekeeper into "teh bad guy", trying to keep Mary and Colin apart, locking Mary in her room and calling her a "beastly girl". She wasn't like that in the book! She even liked that Mary and Colin were friends once she saw that Mary had a good effect on him.

I love the movie, but to me it didn't really get across the beauty of plants and spring and 'magic' the way the book did.

We are not interested in the possibilities of defeat. They do not exist.

I didnt like how she found the key; the ROBIN is supposed to show her where it is buried.
