It definitely moved me more as an adult than it ever did when I watched as a kid. I guess if you're a healthy kid growing up in a happy home with parents who love you, it's hard to empathize with the kids in this movie beyond enjoying their adventures. As an adult, you appreciate the distressing elements of their story much more.
