I know that a lot of things and characters in this movie never happened/or were amped up for drama's sake. However, I wonder if his older brother really did start dating his ex-girlfriend after Rudy left to try and get into Notre Dame, or even if the 2 ever actually existed? Anyone know?

shareOK, I'd always wondered about that too. Because that was pretty low. And then they seem to expect us to get misty eyed about his brother being at the game and cheering him on. I would have told my old man "bring whoever you want, but leave that SOB at home". There should have been a scene in-between where his brother lets Rudy use him as a tackling dummy to apologize for snagging his girl.
"Dan Marino should die of gonorrhea and rot in hell. Would you like a cookie son?"
Yeah, and especially that he had to find out that way, I.E.-When he came home for Xmas. It's like, really?? Nobody could've called or wrote a letter to him??
shareIt wasn't Frank, but the oldest brother in the film who started dating Rudy's former girlfriend. Frank (who was a fictional composite of all those who told Rudy he'd fail) did, however, seem to relish Rudy's discovery of the fraternal betrayal.
