C'mon, this movie is such a fake it's unbelievable. There isn't one ounce of believability to this. And the stereotypes in it never fail to make me start laughing every time. I for some reason wasted my time watching it again this morning on Starz, and it was actually very comical.

The big ogre guy who says 'you're mine'. The base runner who falls for Hank throwing the ball up in the air. The hidden ball trick, and all of this shadowed behind the fact that one day he broke his arm and suddenly he can throw a 100 mph fb. I understand that it's not intended to be taken seriously, but how can you watch this movie without cracking up?

the whole point is to crack up, it's a comedy!

I love this movie because it makes me laugh. I watch it because i'm from by Chicago and i'm a Cubs fan. A comedy made about the Cubs, what's not to love?

Well, no, it isn't a masterpiece, but it is funny to watch a 12 year old playing for the Cubs. I think the idea of the film was it was supposed to be funny, not a serious melodrama.
