Missed part of the movie so I have a question

Apparently I missed a very important part while watching this. It was on TV and I came in halfway thru while doing housework so that's prob why. What's with Henry's moms name in the glove? I know it was something significant so now i have to know lol.

Growing up Henry's mom always told him that his father was a ball player. During the scene where he finds her name in the glove he looks at her and says, "It was you?" meaning: You were the one who was the ball player all along and he just figures it out.
