Uh. how in the world

Did the Cubs (who used to be terrible before the kid joined the team) win the World Series without either him or Chet Stedman.

Also, how does one pitcher turn around a team when pitchers only pitch like one of every four games? Even if Henry won all of his games (which would be unprecedented) how in the hell does he make that much of a difference on the way the team plays?

Additionally, I count four outs in the last inning.

Plot hole.

That is not a plothole. It is entirely possible. Maybe the rest of the team gelled and the team they played in the series caught a bad streak.

I'm pretty sure there were only three outs in the last inning.

1. The Hidden Ball Trick
2. The Race to Second Base
3. The Floater Strikeout

I like to think that part of what Henry did for the team was to teach them how to have fun again on the field.

Once they started to enjoy the game again, they played it better. They were more of a team and as such they were a more cohesive unit.

You basically just described "Little Big League", a similar movie, the only difference being the twelve year old is a manager/owner, not pitcher. And also, his team didn't even make the playoffs.

Why did they let the Cubs win a world series in a movie? Because they knew it would never happen in real life.

Also, To the poster before twister, the Cleveland Indians never played a World Series game in any movie in the "Major League" series.

They played a ONE-GAME playoff with the New York Yankees for the right face the Western Conference Champions in the American League Championship Series. A One-game playoff is used when a division is tied, and the win or lose decides who advances in the playoffs or not. The story is explained in Major League 2, that they got DESTROYED by the Chicago White Sox in the ALCS and didn't get into the World Series.

Before the Wild card, there was only one playoff series before the world series. In 1989, the Chicago White Sox were in the Western Division and the Indians were in the eastern. Now they are both in the Central division.

In Major League 2, they beat the Chicago White Sox in the American League Championship series for a spot in the World Series. The same team that they lost to off-screen in the previous season.

Nothing is ever shown of the World Series whether they won or lost is pretty much up in the air. Of course Major League 3 is focused on the Minnesota Twins franchise, and their Triple A team the Buzz, so we never found out.

BTW, Major League > Rookie of the Year.

Yeah, they did win, which is why Henry shows us his World Series ring. Maybe the way he and Chet were playing influenced the others to shape up.
