This movie needed a sequel

I think this movie would have been GREAT with a sequel.

Set perhaps 15 years later....Henry kept at baseball--and is a top major-League pitcher, perhaps for the Cubs. Gary Busey's character married Henry's mom, and became Henry's adopted father--helping him to achieve greatness. Busey accepted the managerial position of the cubs--keeping on the previous manager as assistant. All went well, for a long time--and the Cubs(or whoever) made it to the playoffs multiple times, and a series win or two--with Henry leading the way. All seems well...

Till Dan Hedya's character shows up, and tries to cause some trouble. As a revenge for the "demotion" and subsequent jail time, from trying to embezzle money from the Cubs franchise--Hedya tries to destroy Stegman, Busey's character, with some kind false accusation-and trumped--up lies, just as he is getting ready to lead the "Cubs" to one more pennant--and series--and then retire. In return for "saving" Stegmans' reputation--Henry will agree to move to Detroit--and pitch for the tigers--with Hedya getting ALL of his money.

Henry's friends--some of whom got into baseball--and others who went to college (with some serious help from Henry financially), still are his friends--and come to his aid--to try and prevent Hedya from destroying both Henry's father--and Henry--out of revenge. Like most family movies....it WOULD have a happy ending...and Hedya "would get his", in a very comical way--even FUNNIER than the first one.

Sound feasible??? Just an idea...

Calm down, yeah his idea sucked but there's nothing wrong with sequels there's just certain movies that don't need sequels like this movie. I mean seriously what would the sequel be about? Henry breaks his leg and can kick a ball really far so he becomes the kicker for the Chicago Bears?

Dragonzord! Mastodon! Pterodactyl! Triceratops! Saber Toothed Tiger! Tyrannosaurus!

I don't know about a sequel but I did think this would end in a different way...

Following the game, obviously Rocket and Mary (Eddy's Mom), would end up together. But what I expected to also see before the credits started rolling:

(Music, no dialog) We'd see Rocket going to Eddy's surgeon, leaving him with the same, weird, cast configuration. Few scenes of happy times as a new family, then Rocket's cast comes off and, he, too, would be left with a "magical" winning arm.

Last view would have been Rocket on the mound, spectacularly pitching, and a final close-up of Rocket winking at Eddy, knowing they shared the "secret."

The fact that the film didn't end 'my' way only goes to show that I am not a writer.

I agree about a sequel of this would be a bad idea, I was near enough the same age as the Henry character when this was on release, I often wondered what would happen to the character after events of the film, I always thought of The Mighty Ducks films with Henry in the same predicament as Gordon Bombay in The Ducks...he is effectively washed up and ended up coaching little league as part of his rehabilatation and community service...Even that to me now is a bad idea...I think it is better left untouched, leave it open and let us use our imagimation as to what happens next...I.would love to write a fanfic about this, but i am useless at story telling
