I read the spinoff with George and Clark and it got me thinking...Rookie of the year 2- It still could be done. Henry could now be a washed up veteran even though he's only 25. By now, he's had a few run-ins with the law, a painkiller addiction, and Tommy John surgery. He's demoted to the bullpen when a new young stud comes up from the minors. The kid's got real talent but some maturity issues. Henry teaches him how to avoid trouble after finding success so young and to avoid the mistakes he made. The Cubs could sign Manny Ramirez and then the kid could carry them to the World Series. In game 7, Henry must come in and close the game against.....Heddo's son who's just entered the league. Of course, Henry strikes him out(like father, like son) and retires. Henry marries Becky and and becomes manager of the Cubs, leading into ROY 3. What do you think?
A Little too hollywoodish and perdictable if you ask me. If they were to Follow through the storyline with all the same Characters, and make it less perdicable, it might be intresting. I Like the idea of Henry being a mentor, but its got to have more depth. But you are on to something.
whoever posted this subject. ok. ur right on. i think definetly u have to finish the whole script. come up with more to this. so far your doing good and send it to hollywood immediately dude. don't pat attention to these guys. just send it.
This is too much. How about the mother becoming the first female to play in mlb with her underhanded curveball and striking out hedo to win cubs back to back world series.
The Story line is much to close to the original. Henry winds up taking the place of the Rocket, and it would just be boring and laborious. We know how good movies, with potential franchise ability end up being bad movies. Case and point, Sandlot two...The story line again was merely just a less fun version of the original....A space model going into a yard? Baloney! If you want to make a sequel like that it has to be original, something unexpected. And you have to remember, Henry showed no signs of being a good ball player apart from his injury. To make him a pro ball player, would be making Shamoo from Free Willy a World Champion Bike Racer. I suppose you could make the argument that one of the key elements of the Original was brain vs brawn, in Henry out smarting Heddo in a clear homage to David Vs Goliath, and that Henry's work ethic and reputation would maybe make him into a pro, but it seems to be too far fetched for me. But hey, Maybe someone will take it up, keep thinking, keep writing...keep going!
well to lay off the subject now that the other guy (whatever his screenname was that mentioned mighty ducks 4).
1. They are going to make The Mighty Ducks 4 eventually just that disney is looking for a perfect script and not only that i think they are determining of whether or not are they going to make it into a 3d film like other movies are or are they just going to do it regularly. my advice to them is definetly put it in 3d because now that imax is coming to some of the theatres it'll make sence to do it that way.
Now to get back to this subject I believe it is definetly necessary to make the 2nd movie for Rookie of the Year. The reason why I say is because people are now probably wondering once they watch the ending of the first why did the kid show the world series ring that he won while playing for the chicago cubs. I know your thinking well because in the movie they won the world series. true. But however people don't think it makes sense. I also feel that whoever started this subject has a great point for the plot for the 2nd movie. I have to admit that. And your hearing this from a guy that took tv courses and writing for television and radio which has something to do with writing scripts. My advice to that person is to finish that script and send it to hollywood immediately. A whole new world will open to you I promisse that. send the rest of this script and we'll go from there.
