WS champions?? I doubt it.

So in the game that decided the DIVISION winner between the Mets and the Cubs, Chicago lost a starting pitcher AND their #1 closer?? Are we really to believe that they'd make it through the CS and the WS w/o Henry and Chet?? I realize I'm looking FAR too into this, but come on...

That's why I loved Major League II.

In the opening they describe that the Indians went on to lose to the White Sox in the ALDS after the end of part 1 where they win that 1 game playoff for the division crown.

It was a nice touch to open the movie.

I guess they wanted to end it in a funny way, with Henry showing the WS ring.

We don't know who they faced, plus that team may have had key injuries.

Maybe they faced the Yankees and they Yankee's 3 main starting pitchers got hurt and are out and they Yankees lost their two top hitters in their line up. So it's possible.

Heck in real life, the Cubs had the 2003 NLCS in the bag (and had an extra game to fall back on) when they were up 3-1 in the top of the 8th inning against the Florida Marlins and their ace pitcher pitching. All it took was one accident by a fan and the Cubs lost their concentration and couldn't get it back and lost badly in game 6. And of course in game 7 they were reeling from the night before and they couldn't get it together in game 7, so any of that can happen in baseball.
