the guy on third during chet's last stand needs to be cut. 2 outs, you run on contact.

I said the same thing....Clearly the people who wrote the movie either were not baseball fundamentalists.

That's the only nitpick that seriously bothers me in the whole movie. If it were 1 out or no outs, but 2 outs I would've run the minute I heard the bat hit the ball. The easy out was at 1st base anyway, and if Chet can't throw to 1st, then the Mets tie the game.

See, it all depends on the situation. Typically, any base runner should be running on contact with 2 outs. However, if the situation is just a runner on 3rd with 2 outs, if a dripper is hit and you have a speedy hitter who is running to 1st, then perhaps the runner at 3rd shouldn't take the risk of going home because they would be out easily as oppose to letting the batter get to first and keeping the inning alive and let the next batter drive them in. It's more about reading the situation properly. Now granted, you might only have a split second to decide.
