Malcom and Sarah Harding

How did Malcom meet Sarah Harding? Was it covered in any of the books? I wouldn't otherwise ask but for the simple fact that Sarah's "father" was in the first movie makes me wonder. Neither the second not third movie make any sense whatsoever but since characters sort of cross over, I say some things need to make sense.

For example, Malcom tells Grant he has three kids in this movie then all of a sudden one of his kids is the token black character in the second movie and he's dating the daughter of a character whom he has no interaction with in this one.

Then, after years of being very close partners (who knows how long really), Grant is no longer with Ellie in the third one and she has a two year old son.

Where are you getting that the Dr. Harding in JP is Sarah's father? Pretty sure that was never implied, even in the books.

Anywho, if I'm recalling correctly, in TLW novel, Sarah visits Malcolm while he is in the hospital recovering from the injuries incurred at Jurassic Park out of curiosity/a need to meet him/interview him. They become romantically involved, she helps nurse him back to health, etc.

Anyone here mentions Hotel California dies before the first line clears his lips.

I have heard before that Dr Harding from JP is Sarah's father but I'm pretty sure it's just fan fiction.

Yeah, I think that's a fanmade misconception. I did a little light Googling and didn't see any legitimate connection between the characters.

Besides, the Dr. Harding in JP hardly looks old enough to be Sarah's father.

Harding is a pretty uncommon name for two characters in the same franchise. I think I saw one of those behind the scenes or top ten things that said it.

I did some research and found that Mr. Harding is in fact Sarah's father according to the book. In the book, Harding is a doctor who provides medical assistance to Malcom after his TRex injuries. It's also revealed he has a daughter named Sarah.

So basically, everything after JP1 was complete writing garbage.

From the novel The Lost World, page 258 (hardcover edition):

"How come you know all this anatomy?" Kelly said.
"I have to. I spend a lot of time looking through the scat of predators," she said. "Examining pieces of bones that are left behind, and figuring out which animals have been eaten. To do that, you have to know comparative anatomy very well." She moved the transducer along the baby's leg. "And my father was a vet."
Malcolm looked up sharply. "Your father was a vet?"
"Yes. At the San Diego Zoo. He was a bird specialist. But I don't see... Can you magnify this?"
Arby flicked a switch. The image doubled in size.

They meet after the events of the first film. Sarah goes to visit Ian in hospital basically just to ask him if dinosaurs were in fact really cloned by Ingen. It's never explained how the two actually fell in love though. Must have just had alot in common I guess...
