It's a different generation of film don't forget..... Jaws was 70's, Jurassic Park was 90's... peoples taste changes over time

Both classics but JP edges it for me

like somebody already said, certain scenes in Jaws haven't aged well

The imdb movie rating is simply the average of opinions of reviewers on imdb. It doesn't invalidate it. No rating for any movie would invalidate it. It's just a matter of people's opinions. In my opinion, Jaws and Jurassic Park are equally good.
