The song in the ballroom

I tried looking for the song in the soundtrack, but it wasn't added... does anyone know the song playing in the ballroom scene with young Ying Ying and her soon to be husband... I think it was sung in Mandarin but I could be wrong

It's a song originally by Teresa Teng, you can look her up on wikipedia and look for "Fragrance of the Night" under the song titles. here's a link to the song from one of wikipedia's external links:

actually it is a song dating back to shanghai in its 1930s. teng has reformed it a little ,which makes it appeal to people in 1970s. it is "YE LAI XIANG" in chinese, maybe we can translate it as "night flowers".

One of the songs playing at the baby's dedication ('there he was with his opera singer') is on an EP I have from Crown Records, but it's all in Chinese and I have no idea what it says.

Teresa Teng? But isn't that scene in like the 60s or something?

reply

I think it back in the 1930s.

Well, my record is from the 60s. It is a traditional-sounding orchestra playing an instrumental version, no singing. I have since found out that the song is called Splendor Night Vision.
