Anyone else think this was a WTF moment?

Anyone else think this moment in the scene was unintentionally hilarious?

Her husband approaches her, asking her about selling the house...to which point Rose starts spouting...

"You're not taking my house, you're not taking my daughter, you're not taking any part of me..

because you don't know who I am. I died 60 years ago, I ate Opium. I died.. for my daughter's sake. now get out of my house"

Rich (??) then slowly bends over and says, "I'm listening..."

haha, don't you think his first words should've been, "WTF are you on about? you died 60 years and ate opium?? crazy *beep*

Agreed, she was getting a little out there.

Only if you hadn't been paying attention...

He didn't bend over. He squatted. Are you just blind or something?

Sure, what she said made no sense on the outside, but being her husband for so long, he could see that she was 'out of it', that she was angry, unbalanced emotionally over this whole issue of divorce and selling the house...and he was sensitive enough to go beyond the words into the deeper issue: that something was really wrong, and he was kind enough to give her a chance to explain, to get down closer and let her know..."I'm listening.." which was the beginning of their reconciliation.

I think he was just happy she finally grew a spine and became a person again after being a blank person for so long. It's telling he said he loved her when she told his mom off. He probably thought he was marrying that person, not the doormat she became.

Yeah that was a tad overdone, lol.

my vote 4 wtf moment was when 1 of the moms drowned the baby while giving it a bath.

It sounds like she's spouting cliches about Chinese history. Yeah, opium addiction is always such a topic of conversation among Chinese people. More like The Joy Fuck Club.
