There was some other movie where the bad guy kept calling the hero throughout the movie.

What film was that?

I can't remember what it was.

There must be dozens of movies that have that device. And the whole "has he been on the phone long enough to tap him" cliche.

I have a terrible memory so i can't help you out though...

It's a pretty common plot device, but the movie I first think of Die Hard With A Vengeance.
