Alison was an idiot!

Of all the characters in the movie, Alison was the dumbest. She was an idiot and caused all kinds of trouble for the rest of the characters and she should have known better. First, she baited Max and got him interested in the Witches' house where the curse, the book, the candle, and Binx were. She should have known better. she also baited Max into lighting the candle, and later, opening the book. Finally, she convinced everybody else that burning the witches at the school would be a permanent fix. It wasn't! It was her fault. She was dumber than the two bullies.

Also, I think Sarah, the youngest witch, had a thing for Alison. I don't know if was flirting with Alison or if she had a particular hatred for Alison, but it was something. If she had fought Alison, she would have kicked Alison's saggy ass, easy.

Finally, did you notice that when the witches took off from Max's house, the blast from their broom exhaust damaged the house and knocked Alison on her ass? They couldn't touch Alison because she was protected by the salt-circle,but what if they had gotten together and directed the blast from their brooms directly at Alison? It would have knocked Alison's sorry butt through the wall and possibly rattled Alison's already dingy brain; Might have killed her.

Never seen so much anger towards a fictional character.

Yeah, I thought she was stupid, idiotic even!

I think the only avoidable mistake she made was to open the Book to try to help Binx allowing Winnie to find it and kidnap Dani.

Thank you. I enjoyed reading that, and I agree that Dani was the bravest character.

Like many Hollywood produced movies, it all worked out in the end. Some teenaged girl thinks she knows best, makes dumb decisions and everyone else pays the price, but it's all great by the end.

I do wonder if in a round about way, it's Allison's fault that Dani got kidnapped. She decides to open the book after Max tells her that he doesn't think it's a good idea. But Allison like Max previously with the black candle, seems to take a "What's the worst that could happen?" approach. How does Allison absolutely and 100% know for sure that the Sandersons are dead? And why does Allison think that she could just "cure" Binx of his cat spell from reading a book that she certainly, isn't well versed in?

The animosity between Sarah and Allison is your typical "rivals" kinda thing. I mean, you've got two blonds that are attractive, but one is evil while the other is good. Sarah could easily see Allison as "competition" because Allison is also a pretty blond, and easily chose to come after her simply for that reason. I've seen it happen in high school both in real life and on tv, and it's all driven by jealousy and insecurity. Allison only fights back because she doesn't like being bullied, and she's trying to help her friends and protect her boyfriend's little sister. I don't see her being jealous of Sarah at all, because she knows Sarah for the evil witchy slut she is. I have no doubt Allison researched the Sanderson Sisters extensively out of her interest in witches, and she no doubt found many, many historical accounts of Sarah's exploits with the men in Salem.
