Lifetime version

Why is the lifetime version of this movie so over edited :( they just to a commercial when SJP is saying Amok which is my favorite part and I didn't even get to see it. They did a very bad job showing this movie :(

It was really frustrating watching it be cut to hell

One thing that stood out to me last night, why did they cut out the part where Billy's fingers are severed by the motorcycle?! There have been far more gory/graphic things on Lifetime movies, and on television in general.

I'm watching it now and it's totally butchered.

I noticed they cut out most ALL the parts of Winnie hitting Sarah.

I've been watching and also noticed it's heavily cut. I assume it's just the same TV cut used for airings on the Disney Channel (why else would they edit out pretty much every use of the word "damn"?). The sad part is that this movie could probably play uncut on Lifetime if they so chose and no one would complain. There's certainly nothing in it more objectionable than the content in most of Lifetime's own movies about sex crimes and infidelity.

I dunno it seemed they tried to make it less violant, b/c as I said they cut out the hitting scenes a lot when Winnie would hit one of the sisters, and the scene where Winnie chokes Sarah when she tells the mob they are sucking the lives outta kids, they cut the part where Sarah starts making gagging noises as Winnie chokes her.

And they cut out the part where it shows the witches feet as they get hung.

The worst edit of this film I have ever seen!!!! I barely could sit through it...so many hilarious moments were edited out and numerous extra scenes for timing. And I thought the Vh1 presentation of Showgirls was bad!

Why was this movie butchered?! How could they cut out "Amuck Amuck Amuck Amuck!" ?!
Lifetime has no problem airing films showing kidnapping, abuse, sex, violence, drugs, cheating, scandals, stalkers, revenge...but we must cut out Billy's fingers getting ran over!

Most movies shown on TV are edited for time.

The movie has a listed run-time of 96 minutes. Two hours of cable network time is roughly 80 minutes of programming, so 16 minutes would have to be cut.

Doing a 1% or 2% speed-up can help gain some of that time back (and yes, it is commonly done) and the credits are usually time-compressed as well, but that still leaves about 10 minutes or so to cut out. And the cuts have to make the segments between commercial breaks be close to certain lengths, so some scenes have to be trimmed shorter or cut altogether to make the segment breaks fall in the right place.

If you really want to see a favorite movie, I would recommend never watching it on commercial television. Rent it or buy it.
