I always found it funny how when Max points out the witches in the crowd everyone jumps back acting scared. Lol i mean everyone there is in costumes, what Winnie Sarah and Mary are wearing is anything that amazing or terrifying that should make anyone jump.
Thats what i love about these high school girls, i get older they stay the same age.
I guess b/c ppl recognized them as the legendary Sanderson sisters.

I guess but there was never really any pictures of the witches was they? Most likely just sketches giving people an idea of what they looked like. I just always found it weird everyone jumped back when really it was just 3 women in witches costumes.

I always thought the crowd reacted that way because the Sanderson sisters stood out as eccentric beauties . Other than the fact that the spotlight was on them, they were supposed to be really eye catching. Remember how Max's dad said "wow" when he saw them. And yeah the fact that earlier the bus driver was hitting on them. They're supposed to stand out.

When Max got onstage and was serious about the three being the real Sanderson sisters brought back to life, the people were taken aback - they believed him. Winifred plays it off like she's just a costumed partygoer herself and starts singing.
The singer/MC tells Max, "Good joke, happy Halloween," so everyone thought it was just a joke or gimmick.
