Saw the first and loved it when I was 5 and saw the second one in theaters

While it doesn't hold up as well as an adult as it did when I was just a little kid, it still holds a special place in my heart. I even remember seeing the sequel in theaters, but the only thing I remember was the ocean being set on fire because of an oil spill. Haven't seen the 3rd one and could care less about the pointless 4th one. I do know this strangly has one thing in with the four Karate Kid films from 1984-1994; the first three have a boy protagonist and the 4th one has a girl and the whale shares a connection with the girl just like Mr. Miyagi did with Julie in The Next Karate Kid.

Hey, I’m pretty much the same. I recently rewatch this childhood favourite of mine and although it did lose some of its magic it still works pretty well. Dropped like from a 9 to a 7.5. I did buy the three movies collection DVD so eventually I’m gonna have to rewatch the sequel. As for the the third one, it will be my first time watch.
