yes. he died in the oregon coast aquarium of pneumonia.
shareAcutually he died in Iceland, not Oregon. He'd been up there for a few years and they weren't really getting anywhere trying to reunite him with his pod. He would leave his enclosed area for a few days, but always wound up back at the pen wanting food. It was a bit of a success story for a while, but Keiko was never going to make it back out to the wild. The only consolation is that he was able to die and live out the rest of his life in the actual ocean, not some chlorinated pool.
