Help with a similar film......

1.Back when I was a little kid in the 90's, there were many similar family-oriented movies that usually had family values, friendship, animal protection and environmental messages. One of them is a film which title I don't remember. It's about a teenage girl who goes on a vacation in the lakeside with her family and during the night, she saw an enormous (but friendly) sea monster that looked like a giant, brown manatee; the the girl befriends the creature and often fed him by giving it oreo cookies. It later turns out that the creature only appears at night and it's some kind of ancient spirit connected to an elderly and sickly Native American man (who apparently is above a 100 years old). I'm posting this here because Free Willy also has the same "90's kid befriends sea animal" theme.



2.Changing topic, there's also another 90's movie which title I don't remember, which is about a group of 3 teenage Brothers (who don't like each other very much)that go to either to Alaska or Canada to film animal documentaries. I liked that movie a lot back then, but funnily enough it always made me wonder who would let three underage kids go alone to uninhabited mountains to film documentaries.
