We have had visitors here, but for obvious reasons
this story is a hoax. A fabricated story that simply wasn't thought out. But hey, Walton made some dough and it beats clearing brush or wrenching on scooters!

shareSince you weren't around for it, don't state your opinion as fact.
shareHis extraordinary claim had no extraordinary evidence. Case closed.
shareI'm not implying that he's telling the truth. Only pointing out the fact that you have no first hand knowledge of the situation, one way or the other. Also, not all cases are proven by extraordinary evidence. What would you consider extraordinary, anyway, photo of Walton shaking hands with the aliens, autographed by the aliens?
Personally, I don't believe him, but I wasn't there, either, so I have no authority to speak to the facts of the situation.
Yes, a photo would have done wonders. As would have dramatic and explainable changes to his body or any strange and unverifiable artifacts he may have brought from from his experience. I believe it was Neil De Grasse Tyson who said that if you are abducted by aliens, just steal something when the aliens are distracted so that you're not only left with a tall tale.
shareThat's all good in theory, but the reality is that absolute terror would override any sense of a desire to gather trinkets to prove your story.
Either way, you weren't there, so all you have is opinion, theory, and speculation. There's nothing wrong with that. Just don't state your opinions as facts. You have just as much "extraordinary evidence" to say it didn't happen as Walton does to say it did happen.

Indeed. Case closed, like you said. And it should be mentioned that "skeptics" who cite N. dG. Tyson or Carl Sagan in support of their debunkery are usually so uneducated and ideology-based that their own claims are as estranged from real science as the views of those they wish to repudiate.
And it is the wannabe debunkers who have a lot of 'splainin' to do, e.g., they need to justify the wicked Philip J. Klass's sordid involvement in resorting to bribery to tempt witnesses in the case to repudiate their statements, and other harrassing methods he used not only in the Walton case, but in many others (including but not limited to his truly nasty harrassment of ufologist James E. McDonald, and his genuinely insulting words to the great ufologist Dr. Jacques Vallee).

shareTheir stories have remained consistent. Whether true or not only Travis Walton knows, he has said that the movie isn't accurate 100%, maybe it was a delusion but I do not believe they lied. Too many years have passed with no changes in their stories so I believe they believe
shareI believe that something happened. What exactly happened I don't know. I don't believe in aliens from other planets visiting Earth. But I do believe there might be things on this planet that we don't understand.
