Winkin', Blinkin', and Nod

There is a lot to recommend this film as a great family comedy. The interaction between Mr. Wilson and Dennis, the outrageous damage Dennis does by accident, and the hysterical scenes with Dennis and the crook.
But, one of the things that sets this film apart from all others, for me at least, is the tender scene between Mrs. Wilson and Dennis as she recites that beautiful poem/lullaby "Winkin', Blinkin', and Nod"

I especially love the scene as it shows Dennis and His mom and Dad in their respective beds, thinking about each other and how they miss each other.

I am not ashamed to admit that it brings back fond memories of my childhood, and a happy tear to my eye.

Joan Plowright is amazing in that scene. I surprised this talented woman has yet to win an Oscar.
