This movie was filmed in my hometown!

Parts of it, at least. I think other parts may have been filmed nearby in other Chicago suburbs (not positive about that one) but the opening of the movie, and the park scene for sure were definitely filmed in Hinsdale, IL! Probably one of the nicest suburbs of Chicago, IL.

The intro scene is the main street in town and the park is where I used to play as a kid :) They have since remodeled the park (took all the fun stuff out to make it safe..) but you get the point.

Just thought I'd share that.

Primary filming was done in Evanston. There was even an article in the Chicago Tribune back when it was filmed. No parts were filmed in Hinsdale. Check the location link on the main page.

the bridge for the train to go over the creek scenes were filmed in elgin, Il., where lloyd was camping out. the creek is poplar creek. which runs through a forest preserve before going under those train tracks at the bridge. i grew up playin around there. spent alot of time at that bridge fishing and goofin off before and after i saw it being filmed. and yes i saw lloyd but never got to meet him.
