I'd rather die than to live by stupid laws like that!

If the U.S made it illegal to smoke, drink alcalholic beverages, have sex, eat meat, using salt, drinking soda, and cussing, I would rather die than to follow those stupid and anti bible laws (except for soda). I really don't see how you could enforce such stupid laws.

No one cares.

I'm surprised nobody in the film asked: "What happened to taking things in moderation?"

I'd be like Spartan, getting tickets left and right for cussing...and cocktails. :)

Although we do have freedom of speech, with how easily people get offended these days, we just might be headed for the laws on language. We've already got the public intoxication penalty. I could also see health care providers getting all fired up about health laws to cut costs. I didn't see some of the laws as too far off from what we're dealing with now.

Totally agree with you. I am allergic to dictatorship. I believe in individual freedom above all. Even though Phoenix was extremely evil I agree on what he said "You can't take away people's right to be beep". On that I agree with Simon Phoenix. That doesn't mean that I liked his character. It doesn't mean that.

Do social laws change that much in 40 years? Stallone goes under in 1996 and then returns in 2036. For us, 40 years ago was 1974. What laws were written that affected our society between then and now?
