Many of us want to see the deleted scenes. My petition for it needs 1,000 signatures in total. It could take more than that so maybe those of you who didn't sign this petition should. There's a link below showing bits of removed footage. Also there are links for the petition and I own a group on the activist site care2. I was disappointed not to see a Sylvester Stallone vs. Jesse Ventura fight. Just as their fight scene was cut out there's a deleted scene in Titanic when Leonardo DiCaprio fights David Warner after he and Kate Winslet were chased on the ship by Billy Zane trying to kill them. They released the deleted scenes in Titanic but we knew that this villain played by David Warner dies on the sinking ship as it's shown when the ship splits in half. Demolition Man and Titanic are favorite movies of mine. Jesse Ventura's character's fate/defeat is even cut out of the movie. I saw Titanic in theatres 3 months after the release of that film and own the Blu-ray/DVD combo pack.
I know you want those deleted scenes but I just don't see it happening. This movie has a die hard fanbase but other than that it's just not popular enough to get anybody involved with the movie to care enough to release deleted scenes.
Good info. I heard some rumours about deleted scenes but i never read any detailed report about them.
When i saw movie again few days ago, i decided to read about it on wiki and as soon as i saw that it was edited by Stuart Baird and that it was released by Warner Bros. i already knew that there definitely was some re-editing done. Baird is known for re-editing movies which studio bosses disliked when they viewed first rough cuts, and Warner Bros. are known for butting in with their movies before theatrical release. Similar thing happened to another Stallone movie Tango & Cash which was also re-edited by Baird and Warner Bros. before theatrical release. Some deleted and alternate scenes can be seen in theatrical trailer.
Also there was that late middle aged cop (who was John Spartan's helicopter pilot when a rookie) who supposedly got murdered by Simon Phoenix in a deleted scene (in the final cut the cop just drops out of the story and Phoenix takes the vacant SAPD car).
I'd dearly love to see full versions of both Demolition Man and Stallone's Judge Dredd (which was subjected to far worse last-minute editing, what with all the unfinished clones waking up then simply vanishing in the final act), but I highly doubt either will ever happen. There just isn't enough call for it.
That said, I go out and buy it straight away if it actually happened.
I generally enjoy deleted scenes, particularly after having watched a movie a couple of dozen times, but I have no interest in seeing anything Ventura is in.
In fact, if there's a petition to prevent the release of that scene, I'll sign that...
Do you not like Jesse Ventura? He's one of my favorites in WWE. He fights Arnold Schwarzenegger in the Running Man.
Maybe Demolition Man wasn't as big as Titanic. Titanic is a favorite movie of mine along with Demolition Man. There isn't enough signatures on my petition to release deleted scenes as I have 2 other petitions more important. Did any of you see Titanic? Maybe Titanic was a bigger movie than the Sylvester Stallone films. Titanic is more of a drama than action and in a cut out scene Leonardo DiCarpio's character fights the David Warner played villain in the sinking dining hall. It is clearly assumed that in the end the 2 other henchmen of the villain who disappeared were destroyed by the cryo-prison explosion just like in the end of Titanic the Kate Winslet character being played by Gloria Stuart dies in her sleep and with the dream of being on the not sunken Titanic there are the people that died in the sinking to her ascent to heaven. People were assuming in the Daredevil movie released 11 years ago that the villain played by Michael Clark Duncan (known as the Kingpin) kills that same mob boss he was working for on being responsible for killing a washed up prize fighter for not throwing the fight. I think in the cut out Jesse Ventura fight scene one of the new recruits was played by Bill Goldberg back when he was playing in the NFL.
2 of the cryocons drop out of the story and then Sly Stallone's character is aiming the gun at the same spot where 2 of the villains henchmen vanished when one is knocked out and the other one shot dead. Sandra Bullock's character is holding the stun baton like a real weapon that happens to be where 2 of the henchmen disappeared. I won the DVD/Blu-Ray combo pack for Titanic. The main villain of Titanic was played by Billy Zane.
Did any of you ever see Titanic? I have the DVD/Blu-Ray combo pack and watched all the deleted scenes in that film. It's more like a drama but the action in that movie is with Billy Zane running around the ship with the gun trying to shoot the main characters. It's in a cut out scene to shorten running time that he sends his henchmen after the 2 to when Leo DiCaprio fights David Warner.
Demolition Man was released 4 years before Titanic. We know that David Warner's character in that film dies when the ship splits in half as he fell to his doom and Billy Zane's character in the great depression lost all his money and shot himself as of said from the modern times.
People are assuming Jesse Ventura's character with another cryo-con were eliminated by the cryo-prison explosion when I figured they could've gotten away. Drew Barrymore's character in Batman Forever gets away in the end.
That's the best site for signing petitions. My 2 others one is for better and more bearable public transportation and the other for the economy out of shape that's also taking stands against greed.
There's a youtube video that shows pictures of scenes cut out or missing.
