No autopsies
I guess when this movie took place they had no autopsies. If they did, they would've found out that all those dead hostages in the beginning were murdered by Phoenix long before the building went up in flames.

shareSpartan's conviction isn't very well thought out. You kinda just have to accept it. Common sense alone (like you said, autopsies) would've gotten him off.

Well, forget it! I'm not doing it! This episode was badly written!
Maybe Spartan had a really bad lawyer or the jury screwed up and convicted him anyway. Even with compelling evidence, sometimes juries do make mistakes. Or perhaps Spartan was forced to plea bargain or else face even more charges that he couldn't beat.

shareWell, it WAS set in L.A. Kinda makes the whole scenario believable.
