I can see O'Bannion bullying Carl in high school, I can also picture O'Bannion making fun of Carl, I do feel O'Bannion would've eventually gotten Carl not long afterwards.
I also liked how Don wasn't interested in paddling Hirschfelder considering he was with Benny and O'Bannion when they went after him, I think it shows Don wasn't heavily into hazing the freshmen like Benny and O'Bannion were.
